Leigh Avuri is admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.
She is a Nationally Accredited Mediator and also a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, accredited by the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department. Leigh Avuri is trained as a Conflict Management Coach. Leigh Avuri is a member of the Queensland Law Society, Resolution Institute and AIFLAM.
Leigh holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, Skills and Ethics from Griffith University, Gold Coast as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Deakin University.

Leigh works diligently and is dedicated to understanding her clients’ needs. She has great attention to detail and believes in striving for the best outcome for her clients. As a Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, Leigh works with disputing parties to assist them to resolve their disputes without having to go to Court.
Leigh commenced her legal career as an Insurance Litigation Lawyer for a mid-tier insurance practice in Brisbane CBD. Leigh practiced predominantly in professional indemnity but also dealt with a range of insurance matters including product liability, public liability, personal injury, property damage and medical negligence. Following this, Leigh became accredited as a Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner. She has assisted individuals and businesses resolve their disputes. As a mediator, Leigh mediates a range of disputes including commercial, workplace, elder and family disputes. She is available to mediate on the Gold Coast, Brisbane, South East Queensland, and Northern New South Wales.
Leigh has volunteered her time with QPILCH assisting self-represented litigants with the Court process. She is also on the pro-bono panel of mediators with QPILCH and well as providing pro bono mediations at Bayside Community Legal Service.
Life outside of the law
Apart from her legal career, Leigh Avuri has been a successful business owner for over 25 years with her husband on the Gold Coast. In her spare time, Leigh has always been generous with her time, volunteering in a number of organisations including being the treasurer of the school P and C, secretary of the local basketball club, committee member of the Women Lawyers Association of Queensland, and past Secretary of the Parkwood Rotary Club. Currently, Leigh is a committed member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Parkwood.
